Look In Look Out-exhibition of portraiture will be exhibited June- July 2010 in Takoma Park,MD. The exhibit will explore the multi-layered aspects of seeing and being seen as related to mental illness and/or trauma. We are seeking a dialogue about art, portraiture and states of mind, be it through artwork or poetry. We are seeking donations of faxed or emailed or uploaded portraits to be included on our wall of faces during the exhibition. : www.studiodownstairs.org

Welcome to our Blog....for consumers of mental health and others to question, comment and share ideas about
creativity, mental health and portraits inside and outside the box. How do you see yourself, now , over time? How do others see you? What does it mean to be 'seen'. How do you see yourself differently from how others see you? How do you express that either artistically or through writing? We want to hear from you!! We are a group of artists,/mental health consumers putting on a show in June called Look In/Look OUt! and we are interested in dialoging about this.
